When offered the chance to shop the Target back to work range I jumped at the opportunity to take part! As someone who works full time I pretty much LIVE in my work clothes, so for me it's about pieces that look good, are affordable and can adapt easily from office to dance floor on a Friday night!

Cheap workwear usually means frumpy or bland clothing that you feel forced to wear because you aren't willing to spend all of your salary on that one must-have piece. But ladies my post is here to show you that with Target you can now have your cake and eat it too!

The main trend I wanted to feature was print, it seems everywhere I go at the moment I see outfits beaming with some sort of statement print that makes an outfit pop. Both of the tops featured above are from the City Dressing range at Target and are only $39 each, it's such an affordable way to work in a current trend!

And as I'm sure you can tell from the photos, these tops fit my criteria of workwear that is for work and play...

To finally find a range of work clothes that are fashionable and affordable is quite refreshing and when hunting down every aisle in Target one thing became clear, they have done some serious style searching over the past few years!

One last thing that I'd like to mention is how much Target has def stepped up a notch in the bag department. I found myself drooling over the rows of clutches and totes in every colour and style! When it comes to bags I am a fan of all things black so I wanted to show you a few of my favourite finds...

Happy shopping... xxx

LIFEwithBIRD & Style Carousel

Not long ago I mentioned that I had a second dress in mind to borrow from Style Carousel and Tailoring Tomorrow gave me the perfect chance to wear this baby for the night! The Julliard Dress from LIFEwithBIRD has a random pleated front with an angled shoulder split and tucked sleeve detail. In other words this dress just fits in all the right places!

Now that I've been introduced to Style Carousel those last minute event invites don't send me into a panic about what to wear! Once again another successful borrow, wear, return experience and I highly recommend you to try it for yourself!

Well done Style Carousel I am addicted!

Tailoring Tomorrow

Thanks to Melbourne Girl I was able to attend Tailoring Tomorrow, an event jointly hosted by Peppermint Magazine and Billy Blue College of Design the event explored the future of sustainable fashion overseas and in Australia.

The speakers for the night included eco designer Rachel Cassar, designers from ALAS and SOSUME, sustainable fashion advocate Eloise Bishop, Simon McRae who is national manager of Ethical Clothing Australia and strategic manager of TFIA’s Textile and Fashion hub Julia Haselhorst.

With so many passionate speakers in the room it was hard not to become enthralled in the debate surrounding sustainable fashion. Many issues were raised from the textiles and materials used to the ethical labour and production when constructing garments.

It became prevalent that overseas countries have embraced sustainable fashion well ahead of Australia with Topshop and H&M both experimenting with sustainability through the reuse of waste fabric and ethically made/grown fabrics.

Simon McRae from Ethical Clothing Australia touched on what we are currently doing to create an ethical fashion industry. Ethical Clothing Australia provides textile, clothing and footwear businesses with practical resources to help ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in Australia and offers a method to communicate this to consumers and buyers.

Style Carousel

I recently had my first Style Carousel experience and lets just say that it definitely won’t be my last!

Style Carousel is an online boutique offering beautiful pieces from Australia’s best designers.

Featuring dresses from Camilla and Marc, Ellery, LIFE with BIRD and Backstage Dresser, gone are the days of living on tuna and rice to save up hundreds of dollars to purchase that must-have dress!

Now you can rent beautiful designer dresses for a fraction of the Recommended Retail Price and never be caught in the same dress twice

It’s as easy as:

“Simply borrow from us, as you would from a friend, and enjoy wearing designer fashions at a fraction of the cost.” – Style Carousel

My first Style Carousel rental, the Mermaid Parade Dress by Backstage Dresser.

I'm already planning my next rental so stay tuned for some more Style Carousel love!

Rococo Rose by Seafolly

It seems every summer I fall in love with a Seafolly collection and this year is no exception. The Rococo Rose collection is filled with vintage floral print that can be mixed and matched between colours and styles.

My fav piece of the collection… well it has to be the Rococo Rose long line bustier that is set to be one of this year’s hottest beach must-haves!
