“Maverick women are rolling with the
punches, succeeding in tough, traditionally male roles” - Herald Sun Journalist Megan Miller
“I want to prove to young girls that
anything’s possible. Just make sure you’ve got the right people around you because
it is quite male-dominated.” – Lauryn Eagle
I am
feeling lots of women power this morning after reading todays Weekend Herald Sun article ‘A man’s world’. Journalist Megan Miller writes about
five women who are succeeding in traditionally male roles, listed above.
I was first drawn to the article by Lauryn Eagles
cover photo and the statement ‘Anything blokes can do… chicks can do better.’
Eagle first came to my attention on The Celebrity
Apprentice, after watching several episodes clearly she was not just another pretty girl
trying to make her name known.
In a day and age where young girls are looking up
to super skinny models and famous socialites, I hope some take the time to read this
article and see that success comes from hard work and dedication, not how you
look.
